Have you heard? … Can you believe? … These books are free!
Numerous studies have proven that young children who are exposed to reading are much more likely to choose books over television, tablets, video games and other forms of entertainment. It is easily seen in schools that reading to young children, beginning from infancy, will prepare a solid foundation for future academic excellence.
Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library provides an age-appropriate book, sent directly to young children’s homes, beginning from birth to the age of five. A young child could easily receive sixty free books before beginning kindergarten.
In Carter County, the Imagination Library mails over 24,000 books per year to families in the community.
Don’t wait another month to register your child(ren). Remember, a book is delivered each month to your home. To register, visit https://usa.imaginationlibrary.com online or contact your local library.
Dolly’s Imagination Library became so popular that in the year 2000 that she announced that she would make the program available for replication to any community that was willing to partner with her to support it locally. Since the initial program launch in the United States, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library has gone from just a few dozen books to over 60,000,000 books mailed to children in the United States, into Canada and across the proverbial pond into the United Kingdom.
