Due to the very dry conditions and lack of substanial precipitation in the forecast, the Elizabethton Fire Department is issuing a ban on open burning until further notice. At this time, this will not include grilling or burn pits. If conditions worsen, the ban will be extended to include all fires. Once the conditions improve, the EFD will issue another press release lifting the ban.
