One of Elizabethton’s treasures was on full display Wednesday evening.
In a collaborative effort between the Tennessee Ethics Commission, Tennessee Department of Tourist Development and Northeast Tennessee Tourism Association, members of the state’s welcome centers toured Sycamore Shoals State Park as part of a familiarization tour.
Staff from each of the welcome centers embark on these tours to become better informed on different attractions, parks and cities across the state.
Carter County Tourism Coordinator Kayla Carter provided the officials with the tour of the park, providing insight of Fort Watauga and other historic information while navigating the trail on site.
Carter added the tours are important to promoting the different attractions across the state and thanked the staff of Sycamore Shoals State Park for allowing the tour to take place.
