Heading into its third season back in action, the local American Legion baseball league is now accepting sign-ups through May 4.
Last season, the league had roughly 165 players across 11 teams, and league president Rick Walters is hoping to see those numbers grow this year.
“It is a great outlet for kids to have fun,” he said. “There is not a lot of pressure. We try to play three games a week. We feel the best practice is playing an actual game.”
Signing up cost $30 and is for age groups 13-15, 16-17, and 18-19. Sign-ups will be held at Horace Mann Insurance at the West Towne Shopping Center beside Beef O Brady’s in Elizabethton. From more information call 423-543-0059.
