New Liberty
Vacation Bible School at New Liberty Free Will Baptist Church will be conducted May 14-17 with sessions each evening from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
There will be classes for all ages, and commencement will be held Wednesday evening.
The Rev. Ray Colbaugh, pastor, invites everyone to attend.
New Liberty Free Will Baptist is located at 113 Peters Hollow Road near the Stoney Creek Volunteer Fire Department.

First Christian
Mother’s Day will be observed Sunday at First Christian Church of Elizabethton. At the morning worship service at 9:45 a.m., Minister Michael Klaus will deliver a sermon from his sermon series “Sound Doctrine.” Mothers in the church will be honored and the Mother of the Year at First Christian will be announced.
Jonathan Baker will read scripture and the communion meditation will be given by Gary White. The children will have special music in honor of the mothers.
Bible school classes will begin at 11 a.m.
There will be no evening service Sunday.
The Ladies Monday Morning Bible Study with Patsy Tadlock as leader will meet at 10 a.m.
The Tuesday morning prayer service led by John Smith is at 10 a.m.
The men will attend the Carter County Christian Men’s Fellowship Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Hampton Christian Church.
The visitation teams will go out at 6 p.m. Wednesday. Also, Bible study and prayer service will be at 6 p.m. in the sanctuary with Minister Klaus. His study will be on the book of Colossians. Adult choir practice will be at 7 p.m.
A VBS preparation work time will be held Saturday at 10 a.m.

Unaka Baptist
Unaka Baptist Church will have its monthly Brotherhood Breakfast Saturday from 7 to 10 a.m. A donation of $7 is appreciated.
All proceeds go to the building fund.

Charity Hill
The Gospel Grass Singers will present special singing Sunday at the 6 p.m. worship service at Charity Hill Free Will Baptist Church, 1352 Charity Hill Road.
Everyone is invited to attend.

Calvary Baptist
Calvary Baptist Church, located above Roan Mountain State Park, will have revival May 14-17 with Wynn Greer as evangelist.
Services will be at 6 p.m. Sunday and at 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday.

VBS planned
at local churches
A number of churches in the city and county are making preparations for Vacation Bible School.
Vacation Bible School at Oak Street Baptist Church is planned for June 4-7 from 6 to 8 p.m. each evening for K-fifth grade. Chris Shumate is pastor.
Unaka Baptist will have a VBS Kickoff Saturday, June 3, from noon until 4 p.m.
Vacation Bible School will be June 4-7 with classes each day from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Stephen Greene is pastor.
Vacation Bible School at Butler Baptist will be June 5-9 with a registration kick-off June 3. Dan Wood is pastor.
Valley Forge Free Will Baptist Church will have Vacation Bible School June 5-9 with classes each evening from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. The theme of the Bible school is “Into The Deep.” The Rev. Randy Johnson is pastor.

First Presbyterian
The Rev. Joe Hoffman will have the sermon Sunday at morning worship at First Presbyterian Church of Elizabethton. The service will begin at 11 a.m., and the Rev. Hoffman will speak on courage.
An Education Hour will be at 9:45 a.m.
Opportunities for the week include yoga Friday at 10 a.m.
