HHS Class of 2017 returns to elementary school for Senior Walk

Before walking across the stage at graduation, some of the seniors at Hampton High School took some time out of their day on Wednesday to walk the halls at Hampton Elementary in their caps and gowns.

This marked the second year in a row Hampton’s seniors returned to the elementary school to share their graduation excitement with the younger students.

The elementary students lined the hallways at the school and offered high fives, fist bumps, and cheers as the Hampton Class of 2017 paraded through the school. The sounds of the traditional graduation march ‘Pomp and Circumstance’ played over the intercom. When that song was finished, the familiar banjo strains of the bluegrass song ‘Hampton’ echoed through the halls.

The hallways were full of laughter, smiles, some dancing, and of course some tears as the seniors walked the hallways for their last time as students. Many of the teachers enjoyed a moment of nostalgia as they watched their former students preparing to graduate.
