As part of the annual Covered Bridge Celebration, the Sycamore Shoals Hospital Foundation is hosting the Covered Bridge 5K Run – 3K Walk on Saturday morning.

All proceeds from the event will go to benefit the Sycamore Shoals Hospital Foundation, which helps purchase needed supplies and equipment for the hospital as well as assist in funding programs and renovation projects at the facility.

Registration for the event will begin at 6:30 a.m. Saturday in the parking lot at Elizabethton City Hall on Hattie Avenue. Both the 5K Run and 3K Walk will begin at 8 a.m. The Run and Walk have slightly different starting locations, but the starts will be coordinated to begin at the same time. Both races will finish at the same location just after crossing through the historic Covered Bridge.

Both the 5K Run and 3K Walk will be electronically timed by We Run Events, which is also handling the management of the races.

The cost to enter either the 5K Run or 3K Walk is $25.

Refreshments and awards will follow the completion of the Run and Walk.
