22nd Annual Sycamore Shoals Quilt Show — From 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. in the visitors’ center at Sycamore Shoals State Historic park. This four-day exhibition, sponsored by the Sycamore Shoals Stitchers, features a show and demonstrations by local quilters. The descendants, relatives and friends of William Berry Norris and wife, Martisha Ann Trivett Norris, early settlers of Old Beech Mountain, will gather at the old Cranberry High School for their 12th annual reunion. It will begin at 10:30 a.m. A covered dish meal will be shared around noon. Elizabethton Elks Lodge 65th Birthday Celebration — Join members of the Elizabethton Elks Lodge (Number 1847) for a day of fun as they celebrate 65 years in Elizabethton. The event will begin at 2 p.m. at the Lodge, located at 1000 N. Sycamore St., Elizabethton. We will be listening to music from the 50’s, drink specials, and food will be served. Girls get your poodle skirts on, and boys get those blue jeans and T-shirts and grease your hair back and come dance the day away, and see some old friends, and make new ones! We look forward to hearing how things were when the lodge started in 1952, and continuing until today!
