Saturday, January 20

A Country Breakfast will be held from 7 to 10 a.m. at Fairview United Methodist Church. Everyone is invited to come and enjoy good food and great fellowship. The breakfasts, which are held every third Saturday of each month, consist of bacon, fresh ground sausage, eggs, pancakes, gravy and biscuits, cinnamon apples and more. Cost is by donation and all proceeds will benefit the Youth Program. The church is located at 878 Highway 81 North, about five miles from downtown Jonesborough going towards Fall Branch.

Rocky Top Gun Permit School will offer a handgun carry permit class at 135 Keenburg Road, Elizabethton, starting at 8 a.m. Ken Potter, a veteran law enforcement officer, is the instructor for the class. Rocky Top is one of the first schools to offer permit training and has been teaching the program since 1997. Cost of the class is $55. You will need to bring your weapon and 50 rounds of ammo. Monday, January 22

Rehearsals for the spring season of the Elizabethton Choral Club will begin at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary of Grace Baptist Church, 1114 Broad St., Elizabethton. The group is lead by Debbie Gouge, director, and Charles Dugger, accompanist. Weekly rehearsals will culminate with a spring concert on Monday, May 7, at 7:30 p.m. All interested singers are asked to report to the first rehearsal on Jan. 22 and subsequent Mondays. Membership for new members closes after Monday, Jan. 29.
