Baseball Roundup: Cyclones top Unicoi for conference victory

After picking up a big conference sweep of Sullivan South last week, the Elizabethton Cyclone picked up another key Three Rivers Conference victory Monday.

The Cyclones scooted right past the Unicoi Blue Devils, 9-2, in Erwin.

The win was highlighted by home runs from Cyclones Evan Perkins and Logan Estep. The two round-trippers were a part of a highly productive day at the plate for the Cyclones. Elizabethton finished with 15 hits as Ethan Eggleston, Corey Russell, and Perkins all three hits apiece.

University High 4, Unaka 0

It took one inning for the University High Buccaneers to slip by the Rangers, 4-0, in a Watauga Valley Conference matchup Monday.

U-H found four runs in the fourth frame to down the Rangers.

Unaka pitcher John Ramsey (8-1) was handed his first loss of the season. Ramsey held the Buccaneers to two hits during the contest.
