According to a release by the Carter County Sheriff’s Department, the CCSD has identified the driver in Thursday night’s pursuit as Lance Justice Lewis of Stoney Creek.

Deputies are still in search of Lewis and have charged him with Felony Evading Arrest among other offenses.

At roughly 8:20 p.m. on Apr. 26, deputies responded to multiple calls of a suspicious vehicle, a red Ford truck, in the Stoney Creek area. A CCSD deputy, while responding to the calls, attempted to stop a truck matching the suspect’s vehicle. The driver fled in the vehicle, and the deputy pursued. The driver wrecked the truck on Bill Lewis Road before fleeing on foot. The deputy pursued until the suspect entered the river.
