While several county offices were hotly contested during Tuesday’s County Primary Election, some elected officials were unchallenged during their re-election bids in the primary.

Randal Lewis was unopposed in the Republican Primary for the office of Carter County Trustee. No candidates sought the Democratic nomination for the office.

Lewis captured 8,320 votes to once again become the Republican nominee for the office of County Trustee.

In August, Lewis will face off against Independent candidate Walter Andrews in the County General Election.

Roger Colbaugh was the only candidate who qualified seeking the office of Carter County Road Superintendent in the Carter County Republican Primary. No candidates sought the Democratic nomination and no candidates filed paperwork to run as Independent candidates in the August General Election.

Colbaugh captured 7,938 votes to once again become the Republican nominee for the office of Road Superintendent. If no residents file paperwork to run write-in campaigns, Colbaugh will be unchallenged in the August General Election.

Johnny Blankenship was unopposed in his re-election bid for the Republican nomination for Carter County Circuit Court Clerk. No candidates sought the Democratic nomination, and no candidates qualified to run as Independent candidates in the August General Election.

Blankenship captured 7,875 votes to once again become the Republican nominee for the office of Circuit Court Clerk. If no residents file paperwork to run write-in campaigns, Blankenship will be unchallenged in the August General Election.
