At the mound, Hampton’s Dalton Rouse earned the win as he worked the first three innings. Rouse retired six batters against one walk. Rouse would have just four hits and one run hung on him. Deaton, Owens, and Hampton’s Josh Owens all saw their time on the mound Wednesday.

After Wednesday’s win, the Bulldogs took a moment to recognize their four seniors Dru Owens, Gavin Hardin, Brett Deaton, and Hunter Davenport.

“The 2018 senior class is a very talented group of student-athletes,” said Hampton head coach Nicholas Perkins. “They are successful students in the classroom. They are involved in various extra-curricular activities. They have made Hampton High School proud in how they have conducted themselves and all of the various things that they have accomplished. They are very unique, each in their own way. And are a joy to coach.”

The Bulldogs will be back at it this Friday as they take on Sullivan North in the opening round of the District 1-A tournament at David Crockett High School.
