Following a 10-month undercover investigation, deputies with the Carter County Sheriff’s Department arrested three individuals in connection with a methamphetamine bust at 200 Hamilton Road in Elizabethton Wednesday.
Drug Task Force investigators with the Carter County Sheriff’s Office and Elizabethton Police Department arrested 46-year-old Theodore Norman Abel of 200 Hamilton Road, 41-year-old Michael Steven Munsey, and 31-year-old Danielle Shay Matherly during a meth bust Wednesday.
Deputies seized $12,000 in cash, a .45 caliber handgun, a pickup truck and drug paraphernalia used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine at the residence on Hamilton Road.
“We have been aware of the situation here for quite some time,” said Carter County Sheriff Dexter Lunceford. “It takes time to build these cases. We need citizen input and help. Today we were able to accomplish that and quieten this neighborhood down for a little while. We can’t keep them (suspects). Unfortunately, they are entitled to a bond and they will be back out again. But we have shut them down for now.”
Abel is being charged with Initiation of a Process to Manufacture Methamphetamine, Maintaining a Dwelling Where Narcotics Are Sold, and Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony. Munsey is being charged with Simple Possession/Casual Exchange, Possession of Unlawful Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession without a Prescription. Matherly was arrested on a warrant for Failure to Appear.
