Anita Ivalee Hand

Anita Ivalee Hampton Hand of Elizabethton died June 12, 2018 at Bristol Specialty Hospital at the age of 80. She was born July 12, 1937 in Elizabethton. The daughter of the late Jonah and Anna Mae Barnett Hampton. Additionally she was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Hand on October 8, 2002, a daughter, Rebecca Little, two sisters and two brothers.
She is survived by one son, Kenneth Hand and wife Sherry, Elizabethton; Grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law, Loretta and Roger Winters. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and a special family Jessi, Mike and Ronnie.
Anita was a long time member of Brick Christian Church and a devoted Christian. She won several Bible contests and gave the Bibles to many different people. She graduated from Elizabethton High School in the Class of 1956 and attended ETSU. She was a retired LPN. Anita was a former member and avid square dancer. Former member of Watauga Assoc. of Genealogists of Upper East TN. Family Genealogist and Historian. Member of ET & WNC Railroad Historical Society. Former volunteer Johnson City Medical Cancer Treatment Center. Former Volunteer- VA Medical Center, Mountain Home TN, Puppeteer. Numerous Hobbies-sewing, crafts etc. Anita was an avid UT Fan.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Mr. Ernie Depew Minister officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain Home National Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Special thank you to the following: Dr. Vivian Clark for many years of care, Dr. Charles Famoyin, Josie Baldwin and her care givers.
