Book Club Fun: Homeschool expo scheduled for this month

Elizabethton/Carter County Public Library was the site for the regular scheduled homeschool book club. Children are able to learn about various books and participate in fun games to encourage learning. TEACH will be hosting a homeschool expo on Saturday, July 21, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Elizabethton Parks and Recreation. The event will feature different classes for homeschoolers and include refreshments and activities.

The class schedule includes:

• 10:30 – 11 a.m. – How the library enhances your homeschool

• 11 – 11:30 a.m. – Special needs homeschool

• 11:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. – Birds & the Bees and So Many Things: Talking to Your Kids about the Important Stuff

• 12 to 12:30 p.m. – Help me High School Homeschool!

• 12:30 to 1 p.m. – TEACH member orientation

• 1 to 1:30 p.m. – Getting started

• 1:30 to 2 p.m. – Taking the Plunge: The Public School to Homeschool Transition.

A kids zone will also be offered and sponsored by Hands On! Museum.
