Weeks of summer camps are wrapping up and now the community is invited to see what the Kids Like Us Community Learning Center has been able to bring to the community.

Summer Fest is scheduled to take place this evening with a start time of 5 p.m. at Covered Bridge Park. The event is free and open to the public while donations are encouraged, with all proceeds going to assist with the operation of the Elizabethton-based facility. Various games, inflatables, concessions and other activities will be available throughout the evening.

Fortress will be playing during the evening. Students from the Center will also grace the stage to show their musical ability.

Kids Like Us allows children and young adults with special needs to learn and enjoy time together in a safe environment. Over the course of the summer, camps have been offered to give students a chance to do community projects. Recently, emergency personnel from the city and county visited the Center to work with children.
