Jr. Lady Bulldogs top Hunter

The Hampton Elementary Jr. Lady Bulldogs saw three players hit double-digits as the Jr. Lady ‘Dogs rode big first and third quarters to a 51-36 victory over Hunter.
The win bought Hampton a shot at the Area1 Class A championship against Cloudland which was played Tuesday night at Hampton Elementary.
Hampton was led by Linsey Jenkins who scored 14 points while teammates Bre Davis and Taylor Berry had 11 and 10 points, respectively.
Hunter’s loss overshadowed a 20-point, game-high performance by Lyndie Ramsey.
The Lady Bulldogs, utilizing good passing, took the upper hand in the first quarter. Hunter, however, started putting on some full-court pressure allowing the Lady Tigers to hold a 26-24 lead into the half after trailing sizably in the first quarter. Ramsey scored all 20 of her points in the first half. For Hampton, Berry and Jenkins each had five first-half points to pace the Lady Bulldogs.
After struggling in the second quarter, Hampton figured things out in the third. Holding the Lady Tigers to just four points, Hampton tallied 17 points in the frame as Jenkins posted nine points. Coming out of the third, the Lady Bulldogs held a 41-30 lead.
Hampton slowed production in the final quarter as the Lady Bulldogs outscored Hunter 10-6.
For Hampton, Kenzi Ramsey (5), Chloe Watson (4), Shania Pierce (2), Ashley Carver (2), and Rylie McClain all contributed.
On Hunter’s side of the court, Trinity Bowers (6), Mattie Sayler (6), Haley Taylor (2), and Alisha Harrell (2) all got in the scorebooks.
Hunter took on Little Milligan in the third-place, consolation game.
