Sullivan East may have been expecting an easy game over the Happy Valley Warriors, but it took all the Patriots had and then some to withstand the Warriors in a game played at Joe O’Brien Field.

Scoring a run in the third and an insurance run in the sixth inning, the Patriots managed to take the Three Rivers Conference tilt by a 2-0 score.

Hits were at a bare minimum for both teams as the Patriots had only five hits and the Warriors didn’t record a hit in the contest.

Brantley Ellis was the man of the hour for the Patriots as he went the full seven innings holding the Warriors hitless and recording 15 strikeouts in the contest.

Happy Valley’s Michael Harrah started for the Warriors on the hill and didn’t pitch that bad as the Patriots got all five of their hits off Harrah and the one run.

Harrah recorded six strikeouts in four and two-thirds of an inning of work. Bryce Carter came in to close the game out in relief and allowed the other East run.

The Warriors committed two errors in the field.

Seth Chafin led the Patriots with two of the five hits in the game.
