53rd annual Covered Bridge Celebration kicks off today

Downtown Elizabethton will be a lot busier than normal with a slew of events on the books. The 53rd annual Covered Bridge Celebration kicks off today at 10 a.m. with vendors, food and kid’s activities. High Test Grass will kick off the music starting at 5 p.m., Mountain Rose will take the stage at 6:30 p.m. and the headline concert for the evening will be Jeff Woods, who will take the stage at 8 p.m.

In addition to the Covered Bridge Celebration, you can enjoy an evening in downtown with the Evenings on Elk summer series from 5 to 9 p.m.

The Covered Bridge 5K and the Community Yard Sale will kick off Saturday’s events at 8 a.m. with vendors, food and kid’s activities from 10 a.m.

The annual Little Hillbilly Contest will take place on the Covered Bridge Stage at 11 a.m.

Bill and The Belles will kick off the music Saturday evening starting at 5 p.m.  Johnny Counterfit will take the stage at 6:30 p.m, and the headline concert for the evening will be John Berry, who will take the stage at 8 p.m. You can also make your way downtown for shopping and the Saturday Car Show by Carter County Car Club from 5 to 9 p.m.
