Saturday will be a special day on Warrior Hill as the Happy Valley High School Warrior football team will be hosting their ‘Meet the Warriors’ day at the high school’s football field.
A special highlight of this year’s event will be a free mini youth coaching clinic along with a free youth club minicamp for all those who are associated with the Jr. Warriors association.
The coaching clinic and minicamp will start at 5:30 pm and end at 6:30 pm. The ‘Meet the Warriors’ festivities begin at 7 pm.
All youth club teams and cheerleading teams, middle school football and cheerleaders, and high school football and cheerleaders will be announced and introduced.
The Happy Valley Gridiron Club will be providing inflatables for kids to enjoy. There will also be ‘Warpath’ bricks for sale along with season tickets, parking spaces, and souvenirs.
A concession stand will be available filled with chicken sandwiches, pizza, hot dogs, Italian Ice, and deep-fried Oreos.
The football team will be helping with the minicamp along with four to five of the Warrior Coaches who will be speaking at the clinic.
Also, the players will be meeting and speaking with the youth teams on the importance of grades, positive attitudes on and of the field, commitment to hard work, and other topics to encourage the younger players.
‘It’s a great way for our players to give back to our community that gives us so much support,” said Warrior head coach Jason Jarrett. “It’s also a nice jumpstart to help build enthusiasm for everyone’s seasons.”
The Warriors kick off the 2019 season when they welcome the Cloudland Highlanders to Warrior Hill for the first game of the new high school campaign.
