The Carter County Rescue Squad recently showcased their newest rescue truck, courtesy of Title 3 funding.
Mayor Rusty Barnett said Title 3 funds must be used for emergency equipment and other resources that are used on federal land.
Deputy EMS Director Anthony Roberts said almost all of their rescue operations occur on federal land.
“This is an F350,” Roberts said.
He said this model is better for towing heavier equipment.
The funding itself comes after Barnett first looked into it shortly after taking office, and was able to secure roughly $119,000 as a result.
While some of that funding went towards the new rescue truck, other funds went to the seven volunteer fire departments in the county, including Butler, as well as the Sheriff’s Department.
