The offices of the City of Elizabethton and at the Carter County Courthouse will be closed Nov. 28 and 29 for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Because of the closings, the city garbage collection for the week has been altered. Monday and Tuesday will be collected on Monday; Wednesday and Thursday will be collected Tuesday; and Friday’s pickups will be collected Wednesday.

Also, the Elizabethton Public Library will be closed. The library will re-open Monday, Dec. 2. The Elizabethton Senior Center will be closed Thursday and Friday.

Financial institutions will be closed Thursday, but will reopen Friday.

All state and federal offices will also be closed Thursday and Friday. There will be no mail delivery Thursday.
