The Happy Valley Lady Warriors took full advantage of their opportunity during the 2019 Carolina Invitational that was played in Charleston, SC after the Christmas holiday as Happy Valley ran through the opposition to take the championship in the Low Country Bracket of the tournament.
Led by tournament MVP Shalyn Whitson who scored 15 points in the championship game, the Lady Warriors defeated North Bullitt, KY 50-24 to secure the title.
The Lady Warrior defense was on the attack allowing North Bullitt only ten points in the first half while scoring 25 points of their own to build a 15-point advantage at intermission.
Happy Valley kept the pressure on in the second half allowing only 14 points to their opponent from the Bluegrass State.
As it has been in their previous two games, the scoring was well dispersed among the Lady Warriors as nine players reached the scoring column for Coach Thomas Gouge’s squad.
A trio of Lady Warriors netted six points in the win as Kenzie Ramey, Olivia Absher, and Jaiden Clark contributed to the victory.

The Lady Warriors return to play on Saturday night in Three Rivers Conference play as they travel to Elizabethton for a 6:30 pm contest.
