With the regular-season middle school basketball season coming quickly to an end and the tournament right around the corner, local teams are picking up steam down the stretch.
BOYS
Sevier……….62
Hampton…..56
Hampton came out on the short end of their contest with the Sevier Warriors by a 62-56 defeat.
The game was close throughout as the Warriors took a 31-29 lead to the locker room at the half and managed to keep the Bulldogs in check in the second half to earn the win.
Dylan Trivett sank five treys on his way to a team-high 21 points for Hampton while post player Hayden Campbell knocked down 16 points in the loss.
Michael Anspaugh totaled nine points in the game for the ‘Dogs with Grayson Young adding four points. Elijah Church (3) and Dominic Burleson (2) closed out the scoring for Hampton.

Providence…20
A day removed from a rare loss, the Bulldogs responded by taking out a little frustration on Providence in a 42-point blitzing in a 62-20 win.
It was an all-Hampton affair as the ‘Dogs bolted out to a 37-12 halftime lead and kept their foot on the gas the rest of the way.
Once again it was the one-two punch of Hayden Campbell and Dylan Trivett who took control for Hampton as Campbell led the way with 20 points with Trivett on Campbell’s heels with 19 points.
Both players also recorded double-doubles with Campbell yanking down 11 rebounds and Trivett 10. Trivett also added six assists, five steals, and a blocked shot. Campbell had two rejections as well.
Cadon Davis contributed to the win with seven points while Elijah McKinney dropped in six points. Michael Anspaugh (5), Grayson Young (4), and Elijah Church (3) balanced the scoring ledger for the ‘Dogs.
GIRLS
Hampton…….32
Providence….  2
There was no denying the Lady Bulldogs a win as Hampton took the 30-point win.
Macy Henry led the Lady Bulldogs with six points while five points each were recorded by Taylor Berry and Gracie Ballard. Faye Carrico and Abbie Lunsford totaled four apiece.
Brooklyn Adams, Ella Eastep, Lindsay Hardin, and Piper Helle contributed two points apiece in the victory.
Berry cleaned the boards for five rebounds with Ballard and Eastep collecting four apiece.
Greeneville……33
T.A. Dugger……21
The Jr. Lady Cyclones just couldn’t get their rhythm on the road in Greeneville as T.A. Dugger dropped a tough 33-21 decision to the Jr. Lady Greene Devils.
Michelle Shields returned after missing the last game and led with seven points in the game. Kaiya Simmons and Marlee Mathena pitched in with six and five points respectively.
Mollie Johnson (2) and Abbie Crigger (1) closed out the scoring for the Jr. Lady Cyclones.
Junior Varsity
T.A. Dugger……28
Greeneville…….25
The Jr. Lady Cyclone junior varsity team took an exciting three-point win over Greeneville by a 28-25 score.
Andrea Flores led the victors with 11 points with Kaila Shepard contributing with six points.
Aubrey Cole (4), Lilly McDuffie (2), Hannah Hodge (2), Jamira Smalls (2), and Jocelin Julian (1) closed out the scoring for TAD.
