FROM STAFF REPORTS
It’s hard to believe that softball season is just around the corner for local teams and new Hampton softball head coach Chelsey Weddle is wanting to get the Lady Bulldogs season off on the right foot.
Weddle is hosting a softball alumni game at Hampton High School’s softball field on Saturday, February 29th beginning at 2 pm.
All former alumni are welcomed to participate and there is absolutely no age limit to do so.
Weddle is working hard to draw the Hampton community in to show support for her Lady Bulldog program. She is no stranger to Hampton athletics as she was a stalwart student-athlete participating in basketball, softball, and golf at the school before playing four years of basketball at Milligan College.
The new head coach is trying to raise funds to improve the softball program’s facilities and hopes to construct a press box that is required to host district tournaments.
There will be a $2 entry fee and any donations will be greatly appreciated. All monies raised will go directly towards the softball team for new uniforms, gear, and expenses as well as the improvement projects to the field.
Weddle can be contacted at chelseyweddle@carterk12.net or can be found on social media Facebook if there are further questions in regard to the alumni game fundraiser.
