A crash on Wednesday evening claimed the life of an Elizabethton man.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol has identified the man who died in the crash as Michael Rainbolt, 21, of Elizabethton.

The accident happened around 2:58 p.m. Wednesday on State Highway 362, also known as Mary Patton Highway.

According to a report released from THP Lt. Rick Garrison, Rainbolt was traveling on State Highway 362 in a 1988 Chevy S10 pickup where he attempted to make a U-turn and turned into the path of a 2016 Dodge Ram pickup.
