Carter County Schools to close

Beginning Wednesday, Carter County Schools will be closed until March 31 in response to the Coronavirus.

This closure will include all extracurricular activities and sports. Any student aged zero to 18 will be able to have free lunch at five locations during this closure, beginning on Wednesday.

There are plans in place to continue education while closed. Students in K-8 will be given packets, while grades 9-12 will be working in Google classroom.

The ACT, originally scheduled for tomorrow, has also been postponed to a later date.

Pending the end of this closure, a decision on schools reopening will be discussed.
