Covered Bridge Jams
FROM STAFF REPORTS
The Elizabethton Parks and Recreation Department proudly presents Covered Bridge Jams, Elizabethton’s annual Saturday night music in the park series, during the entire month of August.
The free weekly concerts will take place each Saturday night in August at Covered Bridge Park from 7-9 p.m., through August 29. This event is proudly sponsored by WBEJ and the Elizabethton Star.
On Saturday, August 15, we welcome Chris Mathis, Jeff Sharpe and the Allstar Band.
Chris Mathis, Jeff Sharpe, and the All-Star Band is popular for their traditional sound but never outdated songs from such artists as Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings, Vince Gill, The Eagles, George Jones, and Johnny Cash are primarily featured by the band.
The August 15 show will be particularly special, as they honor lead guitarist, Mike Malone, as he’s been battling an illness.
Participants are asked to bring their own lawn chairs or blankets as bleacher seating will not be available, as well as to socially distance 6 feet from anyone not inside their household.
Wearing a mask is encouraged under Carter County’s recent COVID-19 mask directive.
