FROM STAFF REPORTS
The Cloudland Lady Highlanders tried to be as giving as possible allowing the Sullivan North Lady Raiders three runs in the first inning but from that point on it was all about taking care of business.

Cloudland scored three in the second and four in the fourth to take control as they rolled to a 15-4 victory.

North’s Carigan Woods, Lilly Crawford, and Kendall Nash scored in the top of the first inning thanks in part to two hits, a walk, and a Lady ‘Lander error as it looked like the Lady Raiders meant business.

However, it didn’t take long for Cloudland to respond as leadoff hitter Karah Fields singled and worked her way around to score as Jasmine Birchfield also drew a walk in the frame.

The Lady ‘Landers evened things up in the second inning as Ryan Turbyfill drew a leadoff walk, Marlee Hughes doubled, Karah Fields singled as did Heaven Caraway with Turbyfill, Hughes, and Fields all coming across the plate to account for the three Lady ‘Lander runs in the inning.

After a scoreless third inning for both teams, North added their final run as Cayden Bayless walked and came around to score.

That was going to be all she wrote for North as it would be all Cloudland from that point on with the Lady ‘Landers scoring four in the fourth, two in the fifth, and closed it out with a big sixth inning scoring five times.

Karah Fields had a big day at the plate going 4-for-5 with three singles and a double. Hughes and Caraway banged out three hits while Jasmine Birchfield, Taylor Hicks, and Gracie Freeman all connected for a pair of hits.

Fields also was the winning pitcher in the contest.
