The Elizabethton Parks and Recreation Department has released the 2021 Covered Bridge Jams Schedule. Covered Bridge Jams opens the summer music series a little earlier than usual with two Kick-off Concerts in May featuring Victor Lawson & Boogie Chillin on May 1 at 7 p.m. and then on May 22 at 7 p.m. with Shooter Band at Covered Bridge Park. “We look forward to another successful season of music and entertainment,” said David Nanney, Recreation Manager. Covered Bridge Jams is a weekly concert series that runs from June 5 through August 21. Covered Bridge Jams will feature a variety of music ranging from country, bluegrass, blues, and rock on Saturday nights from 7-9 p.m. at Covered Bridge Park.
“As a part of Covered Bridge Jams this year, we will host a special Bluegrass event on June 12 starting 5 p.m. called “Covered Bridge Bluegrass Jamboree.” The night will feature Joe Mullins and The Radio Ramblers. With several Grand Ole Opry appearances and seven IMBA Awards, including “2019 IBMA Entertainers of The Year,” this group has solidified its place as one of the hottest groups in Bluegrass. Hollow Ground, a wonderful, local bluegrass band and always a crowd pleaser as well, will be with them.
“We are extremely excited about this year’s concert series and hope that citizens in this community and those in our surrounding areas will come out and enjoy some great music in a beautiful park setting,” Nanney said. “Covered Bridge Jams is a special event that showcases local musicians and the beauty of our historic park and downtown Elizabethton. All Covered Bridge Jams Concerts are free to the public.
“The Elizabethton Parks & Recreation Department is thrilled to present our seventh season of Covered Bridge Jams and hope families will come out and enjoy the music and atmosphere,” Nanney said.
