Johnson County School Board votes to eliminate mask requirements

MOUNTAIN CITY/JOHNSON COUNTY – On Thursday, May 13th, the Johnson County Board of Education voted 3 to 1, with one member absent, to eliminate mask requirements for all students and staff members.
Effectively immediately, students and staff members will no longer be required to wear masks or face coverings while on school property. Students and staff members may choose to continue wearing COVID-related face coverings at their discretion.
In addition, the board voted to lift all COVID-19 related restrictions on parent volunteers.
