One month has almost reached completion in the 2021 Appalachian League new format and many teams have been able to see the teams in their division a total of at least two series in home and away contests.
The league has proved to be both entertaining and very competitive.
Locally, the Elizabethton River Riders have experience both high and lows on the season and currently sit tied for third place in the West Division with the Kingsport Axmen with identical 6-9 records while Bristol holds down first place with a 9-5 record after sweeping Elizabethton over the weekend.
In the East Division, the Princeton WhistlePigs continues to be the best team in the league with a 12-2 overall record, four and a half games ahead of Danville’s Otterbots.
