The offices of the City of Elizabethton will be closed Monday for the July Fourth holiday. Because of the closing, the garbage collection schedule for the week has been altered. Monday through Thursday collections will be collected one day late with Thursday and Friday scheduled collections on Friday.
Also, offices at the Carter County Courthouse will be closed Monday as will all state and federal offices. There will be no mail delivery Monday as the Elizabethton Post Office will be closed.
Also, due to the closing of city offices, the Elizabethton-Carter County Public Library will be closed as will the Elizabethton Senior Center.
Financial institutions in the city will also be closed Monday.
