The City of Elizabethton offices will be closed Thursday, Nov. 11, for Veterans Day.
Due to employees being off that day, the garbage collection schedule for the week has been altered. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday will be on schedule. Thursday will be one day late with Thursday and Friday being collected on Friday.
Also, the offices at the Carter County Courthouse will be closed Thursday, as will all state and federal offices. The post office will be closed Thursday, thus there will be no mail delivery.
Because of city closings, the Elizabethton-Carter County Library will be closed as will the Elizabethton Senior Citizens Center.
