The City of Elizabethton Regional Planning Commission meeting scheduled for today has been rescheduled.
The meeting, which would have been the first meeting for the commission in 2022, was postponed due to inclement weather expected to hit the area this afternoon.
As of 11 a.m., heavy snowfall resulting in accumulations of one to three inches in Carter County is expected to hit the area around 4 p.m. and carry through the night and into early Friday morning, placing much of East Tennessee in a Winter Weather Advisory from noon on Thursday until 7 a.m. Friday.
The Regional Planning Commission meeting, now scheduled to take place next Tuesday, Jan. 11 will include the election of new officers as well as the discussion of a property line adjustment and a new parking lot addition for NET Trans services, a regional transportation group.
