FROM STAFF REPORTS
In only its second year, 11 Carter County CTE students participated in the Pharmacy Technician class and achieved a 100% pass rate on the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam.
With only an average pass rate of 70% of test-takers on the PTC Exam, this is an extraordinary accomplishment for the students.
This one-semester course prepared them for the Pharmacy Tech Certification Exam and upon passing, entering the workforce as Certified Pharmacy Technicians.
Along with traditional instructor-led classes, the students also gained hands-on, work-based learning clinical experience with local participating pharmacies.
The work-based learning partners this year include Roan Mountain Pharmacy, Food City, Walgreens–Elizabethton, Walgreens-Johnson City, Medical Care-Elizabethton and Johnson City, and Burgie Drug.
