Elizabethton Police Department releases information on shoplifting suspect in Elizabethton

Elizabethton Police have shared more information about the shoplifting incident that has prompted a call for help from the community.

The suspect was caught Friday on video stealing from Lowe’s at 925 Patriot Drive in Elizabethton.

In his report, Officer Chazz Hughes said he was told that “an unknown male subject came into the store and put two generators on a cart and walked out of the store. The subject left with a total of $1,058 worth of merchandise. The complainant advised that the subject had previously shoplifted from other Lowe’s in the area.”

According to the report, the unidentified male left the store with two Craftsman 3500-Watt Gasoline Portable Generators.

“We do not have the suspect identified yet, but once we get someone identified it helps with the prosecution,” said Elizabethton Police Chief Jason Shaw. “If you think it is someone you know or may know, submit a tip and it will help us out tremendously.”
