Keep Carter County Beautiful reschedules Milligan Highway cleanup

Keep Carter County Beautiful Chairman Don Hlavaty announced Wednesday that the organization’s first Milligan Highway Cleanup of 2022, originally scheduled for Saturday, has been rescheduled.

“Due to weather conditions, and in the interest of safety for our volunteers, this Saturdays Milligan Highway Adopt-A-Highway cleanup event has been rescheduled. Let’s hope the weather and road conditions will be better in February,” he said.

The event has been rescheduled and will now take place on Feb. 12 at 10.a.m.

Volunteers will meet in the Happy Valley Elementary School parking lot at 10 a.m. Trash pick up goes from Okolona Road to Powder Branch Road.

Volunteers should dress appropriately and bring gloves and water. Trash bags, grabbers and safety vests will be provided. Social distancing, facial coverings, and wearing of gloves will be required. ”
