This weekend marks the first cleanup of the year on Milligan Highway, and the first Milligan Highway Cleanup with new chairman Don Hlavaty. As always, the group is requesting volunteers to assist in their conservation efforts.

KCCB will meet at the Happy Valley Elementary School parking lot at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 12, and the trash pick up route will go from Okolona Road to Powder Branch Road.

The group advises that volunteers should dress appropriately and bring gloves and water. KCCB will provide trash bags, trash grabbers, and safety vests.

This event complies with CDC and TDOT guidelines, so social distancing, facial coverings, and the wearing of gloves will be required.

Those interested in volunteering for this event can register at kccbtn.org, where there is an event page that features a “volunteer” button to provide your name, email address, and the event for which you are volunteering.

Additionally, a TDOT safety video will be available for review before the event.
