It was Senior Night inside VanHuss White Gym and the Hampton Lady Bulldogs wanted to make sure that the fans got their money’s worth as they welcomed the Lady Black Knights of Chuckey Doak.
By the time the final horn sounded, their Lady ‘Dogs had registered a 60-45 victory.
The first half was a nip-and-tuck affair between both teams as the Lady ‘Dogs were able to take a slim 26-22 lead to the locker room.
Madi McClain scored 10 in the opening half for Hampton while Piper Helle pitched in with seven points. Taylor Berry recorded five points and Linsey Jenkins chipped in with four. Macy Henry closed out the scoring with three points.
Tavyn Sutherland helped to keep the Lady Black Knights in the contest as she scored seven to lead the way in the half.
The second half was the difference in the contest as Hampton came out and turned up the offensive intensity by outscoring Chuckey Doak 36-23 over the final 16 minutes of play.
Berry had eight in the second half while Helle and Henry matched each other with seven points.
Berry led four Lady ‘Dogs in double-figure scoring as she totaled a game-high 13 points for the contest. McClain finished with 12 and Helle logged 11 points. Henry added 10 points.
Sutherland led Chuckey Doak with eight points. Hayleigh Hensley totaled seven.
