FROM STAFF REPORTS
Firefighters battled a 35-acre wind-driven wildfire on Mountain View Circle on Wednesday.
The Hampton Valley Forge Volunteer Fire Department responded first, with assistance from the Stoney Creek Volunteer Fire Department and the Tennessee Forestry Service.
Firefighters battled the blaze for nine hours before it was declared 100 percent contained. No homes were damaged and no damage was reported at the adjacent Hamptons RV Park.
Representatives of the Tennessee Division of Forestry were on site Thursday to monitor hot spots inside the fire line.
