Update provided on missing children from Carter County

The Carter County Sheriff’s Department continues its search for three children missing since Feb. 18.
Investigators are searching for 15-year-old Jacob Harmon, 12-year-old Joshua Harmon, and 8-year-old Amber Harmon.
According to the sheriff’s office, the children were removed from the custody of their grandmother in Johnson County under an emergency order on Feb. 17.
The Tennessee Department of Children’s Services placed the children in a Carter County foster home and on Feb. 18 the foster parent reported the children were missing.
According to a release from the sheriff’s office, the children are believed to have ran away and were picked up by family members. It is believed that the children are absconding in either Watauga County or Avery County, N.C.
