Snowfall expected to hit region despite recent high temperatures

Although temperatures over the past week have peaked in the 70s, residents of Carter County should not get used to the warm days as snowfall is expected to hit the region this weekend.
Temperatures are expected to drop to as low as seven degrees in the early morning hours of Saturday with a high of 39 degrees during the day.
AccuWeather predicts snowfall beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday for Elizabethton, with precipitation ending around 3 p.m.
Accumulation forecasts call for a 54% chance of a dusting to one inch, with a 39% chance of one to three inches of snow.  Higher elevations have a 50% chance of one to three inches, and a 36 percent chance of three to six inches.
