FROM STAFF REPORTS
The Hampton Lady Bulldogs continued to show growth in their contest with North Greene on the softball diamond.
Although the Lady ‘Dogs dropped the game, 12-2, they were able to hold their own with the Lady Huskies in the defeat.
Trailing 3-0 at the end of two innings of play, Hampton rallied to score two in the third inning making it a 3-2 contest.
Abbie Willis was hit by a pitch to start the top of the inning. Abbie Lunsford followed with a single and both Hampton runners scored on a single from catcher Madison Setlock to slice the lead to one.
From that point, North Greene managed to add a run in the bottom of the inning to go up 4-2 before putting together a six-run fourth to get the distance they needed to go on to claim the 12-2 win.
Lunsford had two hits in the game for Hampton while Setlock, Rachel Fair, and Lacey Smith collected one base hit each.
