Hampton Lady ‘Dogs break five-year drought
Hampton head coach Chelsey Weddle has been preaching that her team has been coming on strong and on Thursday night her team showed why Weddle has been feeling that way when the Lady Bulldogs traveled to Mitchell Co., North Carolina.
The Lady Bulldogs broke a streak they were ready to break free from and started a new one as they defeated Mitchell 5-2.
After Mitchell Co. scored two runs in the first inning, the rest of the game belonged to the Lady ‘Dogs trailing 2-1 heading into the top of the third.
Hampton put four runs on the board to take a 5-2 lead that they would never relinquish.
Abby Willis led the Lady ‘Dogs at the plate with a 2-for-2 contest with both hits being singles. Macy Henry and Ryleigh Nickles each recorded a hit in the contest.
