Moore’s homer in sixth sinks Lady Rangers

The Unaka Lady Rangers welcomed Dobyns-Bennett to Stoney Creek on Monday looking to pull off a win against their visitors from Kingsport
In a tight-fisted contest, the Lady Indians used the deep ball in the top of the sixth to defeat the Lady Rangers by a 2-1 score on a Payton Moore dinger that broke a 1-1 tie.
Both pitchers were locked in as the Lady Rangers Sadie Shoun took the tough loss pitched a complete-game. Shoun gave up two runs on seven hits while striking out five and walking one.
Sophia Dean took the win from the pitching circle for the Lady Indians as the hurler gave up just the one run on four hits over seven innings, striking out six and walking one.
Alana Parsons sent one out of Ronnie Hicks Field for the lone score for Unaka. She hit the homer in the fourth inning.
Parsons, Shoun, Lyndie Ramsey, and Kendall Bare picked up the hits in the contest all recorded one hit each for Unaka.
Hailey Porter batted 2-for-4 to pace the Lady Indians.
