Erwin man charged with rape and domestic assault

Investigators with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office have arrested and charged an Erwin man after an investigation into an alleged rape.
According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a reported rape and assault on Sunday, April 3, that had occurred inside of Washington County’s jurisdiction. Deputies met with the victim at a local hospital where they were being treated for injuries received during the incident.
WCSO’s Criminal Investigations Division also responded to collect evidence and speak with the victim. As a result of that investigation, Rigoberto A. Llamas, 19, of Erwin was charged with rape and simple domestic assault.
Llamas is being held at the Washington County Detention Center where the sheriff’s office says he is being held on a $51,000 bond.
