Man’s ride in stolen vehicle cut short by police

A Chuckey man is in jail after a traffic stop resulted in charges for driving a stolen vehicle.
According to Washington County Sheriff Keith Sexton, deputies responded to 2703 Highway 107 in Chuckey in reference to a vehicle theft.
The victim had left her vehicle running on the parking lot of Roadrunner Market while she was inside the store conducting business. When she returned to the parking area, she found her vehicle gone according to responding deputies.
During the initial investigation, the deputies were able to utilize GPS technology to locate the stolen vehicle and found the vehicle on Charlie Carson Road.
A traffic stop was initiated and the deputies found Devan McNabb, 21, of Chuckey, driving the stolen vehicle. McNabb was taken into custody and is charged with theft of property (motor vehicle).
He is being held in the Washington County Detention Center on a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Washington County General Sessions Court on April 7.
