The Elizabethton Cyclones were looking to take down one of the top teams in the Upper Lakes Conference on Senior Night Monday at Northeast Community Credit Union Ball Park.
However, the Patriot offense was productive scoring at least one run in innings two through seven to take the 10-1 final.
East jumped out to a 3-0 lead at the end of two complete and never looked back in holding the Cyclones to only the one run coming in the bottom of the seventh inning.
The Cyclones collected seven hits in the game, only one less than the Patriots, but couldn’t turn the base hits into runs. Peyton Johnson and Gage Treadway led the way at the dish collecting a pair of hits each. One of Johnson’s hits went for extra bases with a double.
Kaleb Hambrick, Brilee Hurley, and Hayden Nave had the other hits for the Cyclones.
Treadway was saddled with the loss tossing two innings of baseball allowing three runs on two hits while striking out one. Ethan Meier went three innings in relief allowing three runs on four hits while also striking out one.
Connor Edmundson and Jonah Hubbard threw one inning of relief as well.
Both teams struggled in the field as the Patriots committed three errors while the Cyclones committed two.
